BERLIN (AP) -Robert Lewandowski scored a hat trick as defending champion Borussia Dortmund beat Augsburg 4-0 in the Bundesliga on Saturday, and Hoffenheim ended Bayern Munich's winning run in a 0-0 draw.

Lewandowski scored in the 30th and 44th minutes and set up Mario Goetze in the 75th. The 19-year-old Goetze returned the favor for the Poland striker to complete his hat trick in the 78th as Dortmund climbed to fourth.

Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has now gone 1,018 minutes without conceding a goal, but the league leader was unable to build on its run of 10 wins in all competitions.

"The last games were better for me because we won," Neuer said. "But I'm happy we didn't concede. It was important. It's not just my record, but that of the team - we all work hard on defense."

In Saturday's late game, Pierre-Michel Lasogga scored twice and Brazilian midfielder Raffael added a sublime volley in the first half as Hertha Berlin beat Cologne 3-0.

Lasogga opened the scoring in the 14th, when the impressive Aenis Ben-Hatira ghosted past two Cologne defenders before picking out the 19-year-old who stole ahead of his marker to sidefoot home.

They combined for a similar goal in the 26th, Lasogga scoring this time with his head.

"The funny thing is I asked him before the game what he preferred, setting them up or knocking them in, and he said 'I'll set them up for you to knock in.' And so it worked out," Lasogga said.

Raffael met Christoph Janker's long floated free kick with his right boot to volley into the far corner for one of the goals of the season in the 34th.

Freiburg beat third-place Borussia Moenchengladbach 1-0 for only its second win of the season when Johannes Flum's effort from 20 meters took a heavy deflection off Thorben Marx to give Marc-Andre ter Stegen no chance in the 19th.

Elsewhere, Bayer Leverkusen beat Wolfsburg 3-1, and Nuremberg drew 3-3 with Mainz.

Hertha Berlin hosted Cologne later Saturday.

Dortmund coach Juergen Klopp made five changes to the side that lost 3-0 to Marseille in the Champions League on Wednesday, but promoted Augsburg - yet to win in the Bundesliga - made the better start.

Felipe Santana cleared Sascha Molders' header off the line with goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller beaten in the 12th, before Lewandowski fired Dortmund ahead from an angle after Augsburg failed to clear the ball.

Dortmund gained confidence from the goal and Goetze might have had a penalty when he was brought down by Lorenzo Davids in the 37th, before Lewandowski was left unmarked to score his second.

Weidenfeller saved a penalty from Gibril Sankoh in the 48th, after Ilkay Guendogan clearly brought down Tobias Werner.

Goetze put the issue beyond doubt with a wonderful chip over Simon Jentzsch, and then crossed for Lewandowski to head in his third.

"We approached the game with too few ideas. Dortmund are too good a team and will of course take advantage of that," Jentzsch said.

Hoffenheim arguably gave Neuer his busiest game in the Bayern shirt, the Germany No. 1 stretching to deny Marvin Compper's header from a Hoffenheim free in the 22nd, five minutes after Isaac Vorsah cleared Jerome Boateng's effort off the line at the other end.

Neuer then stopped Ryan Babel's effort, shortly after Hoffenheim appeals for a penalty were turned down when Gylfi Thor Sigurdsson fell under Daniel van Buyten's challenge in the 34th.

Munich coach Jupp Heynckes brought on Dutch winger Arjen Robben for Franck Ribery at the break, the Frenchman going off with muscle problems, but the home side remained more dangerous.

With Daniel Williams - who was called up for the United States on Thursday - impressive in defense on his first Bundesliga start for Hoffenheim, Bayern failed to create many clear-cut opportunities.

However, the visitors almost snatched the lead when Hoffenheim goalkeeper Tom Starke cleared straight to Toni Kroos, only for the midfielder to attempt a pass instead of shooting, and Bastian Schweinsteiger had a goal ruled out for offside in the 70th.

"We should have won. We were the better team, so we've dropped two points," Hoffenheim coach Holger Stanislawski said.

"But I won't look for the hair in the soup. I'm happy with a point against Bayern."

In Leverkusen, Gonzalo Castro beat the offside trap before rounding the Wolfsburg goalkeeper for his first goal of the season in the 14th, with Mario Mandzukic equalizing in the 59th.

Eren Derdiyok made it 2-1 with a spectacular goal in the 65th, beating the offside trap before turning and looping it over two defenders and the helpless Diego Benaglio with an overhead kick to the top right corner.

"It was one of the nicest goals in my career ... it was the nicest. You can definitely say it was the nicest," Derdiyok said.

Stefan Kiessling sealed Leverkusen's win in the 85th.

Mainz came from 2-0 down to lead 3-2 through goals from Niko Bungert, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Andreas Ivanschitz, before Tomas Pekhart equalized in the 82nd for the home side.

Markus Feulner had earlier given Nuremberg the lead against his former club, before setting up Robert Mak for another in the 19th.

Overcoming turmoil

Manchester City moved on from the turmoil of Carlos Tevez's apparent refusal to play with a resounding 4-0 victory at Blackburn in the Premier League on Saturday.

Striking out

Opinion: In 2009, Carlos Tevez was hailed with a giant billboard reading: "Welcome to Manchester." Now, it could be time for a new poster: "Good Riddance."
